University of Florida Libraries introduce GovXpress,
the new online government documents reference service

GovXpress is a new online chat reference service that allows users to ask a Government Documents information specialist at the University of Florida for help with research via the Internet. By logging on to the website http://govxpress.uflib.ufl.edu/govx users can communicate in real-time and receive immediate help with a question without leaving their computer. The service begins September 9, 2002 with limited hours that will be expanded in spring 2003.

GovXpress enables citizens to have increased access to government information contained in the Regional Federal Depository Library for Florida and the Caribbean. A link to the service is also found on the libraries’ Florida Electronic Federal Library website at http://www.uflib.ufl.edu/fefdl. There is also a routinely monitored e-mail option for asking questions during non-staffed hours.

GovXpress joins the libraries’ general virtual reference service, RefXpress, http://refexpress.uflib.ufl.edu as another option for directly accessing reference information.
