Electronic Resources Unit

Monographs
- Blackwell/Collection Manager implementation
- accompanying transition to fully electronic selection & ordering process
- implementation of EDI invoicing for (some) monographs
- implementation of firm ordering for e-books through Blackwell
- Began new foreign approval plan (French language materials)
- Implemented streamlined course reserve ordering workflow (again, fully electronic)

Paying Unit

- Working with Acquisitions Chair, developed scheme, called Budget Center Reporting, for Acquisitions budget reporting that more closely reflects the current library organizational structure.
- Kerstin initiated and coordinated system for identifying and tracking pending credits from serials vendors
- Jack developed and used training manual for capturing data used to update eResource tracker application; allows other unit staff to do some of this work
Serials Unit
- During August – September 2008, the Serials Unit processed the cancellation of 662 titles (604 subscriptions and 58 standing orders) for a total cancellation amount of $300,715.79 ($278,069.25 on subscriptions and $22,646.54 on standing orders).
Personal Highlights
- Jack completed Pro 3 fiscal certification for managers offered by UF
- Raimonda received a Masters of Library and Information Science from University of South Florida.
- The following staff completed six workshops and received UF Supervisory Challenge Certificates: Raimonda, Paul, and Steve
- Chris was hired as the new E-resource librarian.
- Steve participated in the UF Academy, a university-wide leadership program.
- Jack completed Pro 3 fiscal certification for managers offered at UF.
- Jay received his MCDST (Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician) certification.
- Paul & Steve took part in the creation and facilitation of an E-Books Summit Preconference as part of the Collection Development/Resources Sharing Conference hosted by FSU and PLAN in Tallahassee, FL.
- Paul co-facilitated the program, “The Data Train: Can We Share the Track” (on the future of bibliographic control), at the Charleston Library Conference
