Annual Highlights : 2010-2011

  1. Hired a new Print & Media Unit Manager (Associate 3) Trey Shelton.
  2. Raimonda Margjoni assumed management of Health Sciences Center Library’s budgets, and became Jack Waters’s primary backup.
  3. Revised the assignment of print material and e-resources budget allocations by college and subject disciplines (for UF’s new budget system, Responsibility Center Management – RCM); worked with Brian Keith on an institutional data comparison - all figures and charts were used by Library Administration for RCM report to university deans.
  4. Revised workflow of selection and ordering of firm and approval books with our primary book vendor (Coutts); implemented all new tech support, vendor database ordering, and selector profiles; set several meetings with 50+ Budget Center selector liaisons and provided all necessary training and handouts.
  5. With the demise of Blackwell, routed hundreds of standing orders to Coutts, Harrassowitz, and YBP.
  6. Updated the department Webpages and developed a new intranet SharePoint site for internal procedures, links, and documents.
  7. Coordinated with Cataloging and Metadata Managers the processing of new serial titles and title changes in light of serial workflow change, necessitating the establishment of new workflow for serial title and frequency (pattern) changes.
  8. Continued working with representatives and committees from the Statewide University Libraries (SUL) and FCLA on consortia initiatives that affect UF and the department, - these included the JStor archival issue; shared database and e-journal package negotiations and management; an e-book acquisitions model for every library in the SUL; and the One Bib union catalog project.
  9. Began early collaboration with UF/FSU librarians and Coutts representatives to create a new shared e-books plan between the two universities.
  10. Organized transfer of serials check-in and serials claiming to Library West; provided LW staff training and communicated delivery address changes to vendors.
