Strategic Objectives 2001/02
| I. | Participate in preparing for migration to LMS by identifying acquisitions and serials concerns that need to be addressed prior to implementation. (ALL) |
| II. | With LMS implementation in mind, continue assessing acquisitions tasks and initiate redesign plans to coordinate workflow with other sections or units that will improve processing and enhance job assignments. (ALL) |
| III. | Continue to analyze domestic serials subscriptions and monitor vendor services by tracking order and claiming fulfillment and payment activities. Make recommendations for vendor changes when appropriate. (Jack Waters, Doug Kiker, Michele Crump) |
| IV. | Continue to monitor EDI advances within LMS and vendor services (invoicing, ordering, claiming) and note appropriate applications for the University of Florida libraries. (Jack Waters, Suzanne Kiker, Doug Kiker, Michele Crump) |
| V. | Continue to identify foreign monograph vendors with online systems that the Collection Management Support and Monographs Units could incorporate into the CORCE workflow. (Suzanne Kiker) |
| VI. | Continue working with Collection Management to identify University of Florida publications, particularly electronic publications, that could be used as barter for establishing electronic scholarly exchange agreements. (Steve Carrico) |
| VII. | Participate in making electronic resources more accessible through URL links by training staff in processing procedures and increasing awareness of resources as they are acquired. (Naomi Young) |
| VIII. | Participate in Digital Library Center projects as assigned. (ALL) |
| IX. | Continue inventory of the libraries uncataloged serials collections; identify and rank categories of material for cataloging in order to increase patron access. (Naomi Young) |
| X. | Work with Central Bibliographic Services Section to determine rate of return for Approval Plan books and develop a feasible plan for expanding shelf ready services to include these materials. (Suzanne Kiker, Michele Crump) |
| XI. | Analyze costs of shelf ready services and workflow dynamics for both monographs and serials standing orders. (Suzanne Kiker, Michele Crump) |
