- Analyze workflow functions and Aleph activities in Acquisitions and
Licensing Department; introduce refinements where necessary and appropriate;
coordinate redesigned workflow with other departments or units within

- Continue to finish ongoing project to reclassify Dewey monograph and
standing order titles in the Humanities and Social Sciences collections,
and to reclassify Dewey monographs and series titles when indicated and
requested by Collection Management. (Lawan Orser, Steve Carrico).
- Implement EDI batch invoicing and payments in Aleph for the major monographs
vendors used in Acquisitions and Licensing Department; monitor accuracy
and timeliness of these vendor services. (Suzanne Kiker, Jason Fleming,

- Review and manage license agreements for electronic resource purchases;
integrate the paper license files with archived scanned files. Ensure
that only current agreements are entered into new Ex Libris’ Electronic
Resources Management System Verde. (Doug Kiker, Jason Fleming, Jay Wiese,
Jessica York).
- Begin to implement Ex Libris’ Electronic Resources Management
System Verde. Train E-Resources Unit staff on how to use system, input
data, create records, and participate in consortia functionality of Verde
(Doug Kiker, Jason Fleming, Jay Wiese, Jessica York).
- Review the development and availability of World Cat Selection using
ITSO CUL software for use in monograph ordering (Steve Carrico, Suzanne
Kiker)
- Encourage application of Macro Express to repetitive functions in Aleph
throughout the library system; promote and share the suites of macro activities
practiced in acquisitions, serials, and maintenance operations. (Jason
Fleming, Steve Carrico, Suzanne Kiker, Doug Kiker, Lawan Orser, Jack Waters).
- Working with FCLA, develop in-house Aleph reports that offer statistical
coverage of Aleph acquisitions and cataloging work; coordinate reports
with Law and Health Science Center. (Steve Carrico, Jack Waters, Suzanne
Kiker, Doug Kiker, Jason Fleming, Steve Carrico, Lawan Orser).
- Working with web page designers from each unit, coordinate and upgrade
department pages; and create a new web page for statistical summary while
developing new methods of gathering and monitoring statistics. (Jason
Fleming, Steve Carrico).
- Using link checker software, monitor and distribute report of broken
links to appropriate library units for correction. (Jason Fleming, Doug
Kiker, Jessica York)
- Reorganize department by creating a new Electronic Resources Unit to
centralize the acquisitions, licensing, and management of electronic resources,
while improving the processing efficiency and workflow of print materials
in both the Monograph & Serial Units. (Steve Carrico, Doug Kiker,
