Policy CommitteeDescription of Responsibilities:
The Continuing Resources Policy Committee is a working group whose aim is to define and maintain library wide standards for all aspects of continuations control. These standards incorporate all formats and clarify procedures relating to collection management and technical and public services activities. The Committee is responsible for recommending UFL (Smathers, HSCL and Law) policies and interdepartmental procedures for processing continuations to provide patrons with effortless access through the Web and LMS. The Committee oversees the documentation of continuations procedures and reviews and revises existing policies and procedures as necessary. The Committee posts current continuations policies and procedures in the Acquisitions and Licensing & Cataloging and Metadata Department sections of AlephPro and works with the A Team to ensure that policies and procedures are put into operation throughout the system.

2004/05 Issues to be addressed:
1. Collaborate with Public Services concerning means to effectively create and maintain links to electronic journal content through the library OPAC and the Serials Solutions database.
2. Evaluate options for presenting serials bibliographic and holdings records (including electronic journal content) in the Aleph OPAC in order to maximize ease of use for patrons.
3. Monitor progress of implementing EDI practices for ordering, claiming, invoicing, and claim response within the State and also between LMS and vendors.
