Trial Subscription Policy
Selectors may arrange trial subscriptions directly with the publisher in order to review an electronic resource before purchasing. In making these types of arrangements, Selectors should consult with the Systems Department to ensure that the material can be accessed sufficiently with hardware located in the Library.
- Trial Specifications
Selectors will be responsible for complying with the terms of the trial agreement for usage of the electronic resource material during this review period. In addition, Selectors will be responsible for the timely return of the trial material, following the specifications of the supplier.
- Aleph/OPAC Access
The trial subscription title DOES NOT appear in Aleph or the public OPAC (no order or catalog record is created) until the Selector makes a selection decision to add the title to the collection.
- Order Process
Once the Selector has returned the sample and made a decision to order the material, he/she will request the title following the order procedures outlined in the Electronic Resources Order Procedures.
