UF Libraries Silent
Auction
2001 UF Community Campaign
October 1st through October 12th
Hi Everyone. We are very excited about the 2001 Silent Auction to supplement
the UF Libraries Contribution to the UF Community Campaign that runs from
October 1st through October 12th.
This year's UF Libraries' theme is "Gator
Gifts Make A Difference Where We Live". Many of you have
been anticipating the Silent Auction with enthusiasm, and it's time! A
list of the items up for sale with accompanying pictures will be found
at the website as items become available.
The Silent Auction
is fun! It's your chance to show off your creativity, your craft and collecting
interests. You may donate tickets to events, new books, handmade items,
vouchers for services, and/or food items. (Services, like the restoring
old family pictures, and food items, like a gourmet lunch, need to be
represented by a picture, pamphlet, or some kind of prop, and suggest
the availability or delivery dates for the auction display.) Donate to
a good cause, and have a good time. Please donate!
Important Dates:
Registration:
- Register your
donation on an electronic form.
- Deadline to register
is Friday, October 5th at 5p.m.
- Deadline to deliver
your donations is Friday, October 5th, 4:45 p.m. Turn in your

be photographed and up on the Web Page. Deliver your donations to
Special Collections Service Desk, Second Floor, Library East. (MSL folks
will give items to Monica Aiton.)

THE
GUIDELINES FOR A SILENT AUCTION ("How does it work?")
- Fill out a Registration
form.
- Assign a "value"
to the donation on the Registration Form. (Fair Market Value)
- Suggest the minimum
opening bid. Or leave blank on form, and we will suggest the opening
bid.
- Take the object
or service description/prop, to the Special Collections Service Desk,
2nd Floor Library East
Minimum Bid and Minimum Bid Increment
- The minimum bid
and increments are tied to the value of the item, and will be set by
the donor or the coordinators.
- Every item will
have a "Minimum Bid Increment". Every bid must go up by this
amount or be discounted.
- If anyone has a
question, please ask us.
Email Bids

to: silentbid@mail.uflib.ufl.edu.
- Check the UF
Libraries' UFCC Web Pages to see items and to check on the last
high bid. New highest Bids will post at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Remember
that bids will be flying in, so you may be outbid before you see your
bid posted.
We are blessed with a generous and talented staff at the UF Libraries!
Donate a collectible, a piece of art, craft art, or new book, sports memorabilia,
or event tickets or vouchers for services. Here's your chance to let us
know about your favorite collectibles, your artistic or crafty talents.
We need donations of all shapes, sizes and value. If you have any questions,
please contact Monica, or Suzanne.
