HOLDINGS and ITEMS--MOST FREQUENTLY USED HOL AND ITEM RECORD COMMANDS
HOLDING RECORD COMMANDS:
Loading Holding Records from BIB record in Cataloging Module
- Display Bibliographic Record
- File Menu/Load HOL record or Ctrl+O
To Add or Edit Holdings Records from Holdings List
- Click "Add" for new Holdings record
- Click "Edit" to edit or view Holdings record
To Add or Edit Holdings Records from Item Record
- Display Item List of Record #
- Click "Retrieve HOL."
- Click "Edit" to edit Holdings
- Click "View" to see a non-MARC display of Holdings record
- "Add" is not an option
Loading Holdings records from Navigation Map via Search Module
- Search for bibliographic record in Search Module
- Select Full view, etc. from Browse List of Titles
- Add to Navigation Map
- Click on "Catalog HOL"
- On Holdings List: Click either "Add" or "Edit"
ITEM RECORD COMMANDS:
Loading Item Records from BIB record in Cataloging Module
- File Menu/Open Item Record or
- Click on Open Items Record icon on toolbar (books with pink pencil)
- In Items Module with Item Record displayed (Nav. Map for Admin. Record in background)
- Select "Modify" to edit or fill in Item record
- Select "Add" to add new Item record
- Select "Duplicate" to add additional Item records for a multivolume set after you have created the first item record Be careful that the additional Item records are linked to correct HOL record!!
- Select "View" to see a non-MARC display of the full Item record
- Select "Retrieve Hol." to edit Hol record or Unlink Item Record
