Linking Holdings to Items (v18)
When cataloging, CREATE HOL first then do your ITEM. Make sure the HOL link on the item record reflects the HOL system number.
If you call up the ITEM first, the HOL link will be 0 and will be grayed out. Choose Tab 6 HOL Links and it will send you back to the Holding screen and you can choose to create new which will automatically link the holdings and items. If there is already a Holding record choose the link tab.
There is not a holding associated with the following record:
If I call up the Item without creating a holding I get the following screen:
Notice the holding link is 0 and is grayed out. Clicking on Tab 6 HOL Links will take me to the following:
Choosing create new takes me to the following:
The red check mark shows this holding is linked to an item. I can now click edit and finish my holding. After finishing the holding I can return to my Item by clicking the Item node in the left hand pane or by expanding the UFU50 and clicking the word ITEM. It is now linked to the holding.
