Not every item will be selected for addition to the LUIS database. G&E staff searches LUIS for title and copy specific information as well as circulation status of each item, and notes this information on the pink Mickler Gift Preview/Selection slip inserted in each item. Collection Managers review, select and assign location code on the Mickler Gift Preview/Selection slips. Additional copies to be added are also noted in the pink slip. Copy Cataloging staff searches OCLC database, catalogs and distributes appropriate items to Contributed Cataloging staff to handle.
Collection Managers review this collection in batches of approximately 300 items. This collection is not designated to receive high cataloging priority.
