Library West Study Room Policies

Library West has a limited number of group study rooms available to enrolled students by reservation. Two study rooms are also available for graduate students on a first-come first-served basis on the sixth floor.

*Group study rooms are provided for groups of two or more; they are not for individual use. Please note exceptions below.

Due to vandalism, library staff will check the condition of each room between groups.

Procedure:

To determine availability, please consult the online room reservation system
- Connect to the Library West Study Rooms page, and click on the Room Reservation Link link.
- Choose an available room. Note that rooms are available by two hour slots, such as 8 am – 10 am, 10 am – 12 pm, etc.
- Click on the room and sign in with your UF ID and library password.
- The reservation is complete when the message, “booking is successfully placed” is displayed.
- Sign out of the room reservation system.
The key must be picked up in person at the Library West Circulation Desk and checked out by the student who made the reservation, with members of the group present. Room reservations are automatically terminated at fifteen minutes after the beginning time of the appointment.
All personal books, papers, and other belongings must be removed and the key returned to the Library West Circulation Desk within the end of your appointment, or an overdue fine will be charged.

Guidelines for Use:

The borrower or person who checked out the room is responsible for the key and condition of the room.
Study room keys may not be duplicated.
Do not move library furniture into study rooms.
Food is permitted, with some restrictions.
Rooms are not soundproof. Please be considerate.
DO NOT leave the room unattended. The library is not responsible for the loss or theft of personal property.
Lock door securely and turn off lights and equipment when leaving the room.
$10 per hour, or fraction thereof, overdue charge. Maximum $100 overdue at which time the item is considered LOST.
There is a non-refundable $35.00 replacement fee if the key is LOST.
Rooms are available for standard blocks of 2 hours (8? 10 am, 10 am ? 12 pm, 12 -2 pm, 2 -4 pm, 4 ? 6 pm, 6 ? 8 pm, 8 ? 10 pm, etc.)
Please return your key directly to a staff member to ensure its prompt return.
