The Contributed Cataloging Unit is responsible for materials needing original or difficult shared cataloging in all subject areas and formats. This new Unit was created by merging the Science and Social Science Cataloging Unit with the Humanities and Special Collections Cataloging Unit. In addition to provision of access to UF patrons for these materials in the library catalogs, the unit contributes new and upgraded bibliographic and authority records to the OCLC (WorldCat) database. Many of our members have special cataloging and liaison assignments with special formats and areas of the libraries as listed below.

Greg Allen (Library Associate I, Departmental Web Coordinator.)
Contributes original and shared cataloging for books, maps, videos and other formats. Works independently with certain online videos and water management district technical reports. Special areas of expertise: nutrition and food science/microbiology. Works on the MSL Reference Desk several times a week. Serves on the library Web Advisory Group, the Cataloging and Acquisitions Web Group and on the President's LGBT Concerns Committee.
Jacqueline A. Brown (Library Associate II)
Contributes original and shared cataloging independently for various formats of materials. Special areas of expertise: social science, documents, Judaica. Serves on Cataloging and Metadata Dept. Training Committee, trains new staff in cataloging and works directly with Documents Dept. to provide access to Urban and Regional European Communities documents. Part of the StoDocs cataloging team working to catalog the pre-1976 US federal documents in the Auxiliary Storage Facility.
Peter Bushnell (Associate Librarian)
Latin American original and shared cataloging.Music original and shared cataloging. General humanities original and shared cataloging. Liaison to Departmental Branches, including Education, Music, Journalism, and Architecture and Fine Arts Libraries.
Jane Anne Carey (Assistant Librarian; original cataloger, primary assignment is in Authorities and Metadata Quality Unit)
Coordinates special data clean-up and cataloging projects. Assists with the management of database maintenance operations, including planning, budget and goal setting for reclassification and other projects. Maintains data in the local catalog and WorldCat to accurately reflect bibliographic data, including current library holdings. Original cataloging and revision of original cataloging for humanities. Liaison to Special and Area Studies Collections Department.
Susan Constantineau (Library Associate I)
Creates original cataloging records for maps and other library materials for local and national databases. Creates and edits records in various languages and formats. Contributes records for Florida agriculture materials to the AGRICOLA database as well as our catalog. Special areas of expertise: maps (especially antique maps) and serials. Serves on the Cataloging and Metadata Dept. Training Committee.

Jorge González (Library Associate II)
Creates original cataloging records for maps and science materials independently for local and national databases, and performs copy cataloging. Special areas of expertise: geography and Spanish language materials. Assists IFAS Extension Centers as needed in the cataloging of their collections. Serves on the Cataloging and Metadata Dept. Training Committee. Assists in providing reference and circulation assistance at the Map Library. Serves as a liaison to the Digital Library Center.
Jacklyn K. Heiland (Library Associate I)
Contributes original and shared cataloging for books, maps, videos and other formats. Special areas of expertise: science and social science materials and authorities. Also coordinates original cataloging of special Florida History materials and catalogs Florida Urban and Regional Documents.
Randy Jewett (Library Associate I)

Jimmie Lundgren (University Librarian and Unit Head)
Coordinates the work of the Contributed Cataloging Unit. Special areas of expertise: agriculture, science and cartographic materials. Serves as UF SACO Coordinator and SACO Mentor for the deep south. Works closely with staff of Marston Science Library and the Documents Dept. and serves as a member of the Cataloging and Metadata Dept. management team and the Endeca Discussion Group and serves on the Career Development Committee.
Hikaru Nakano (Assistant Librarian)
Chinese/Japanese/Korean language and literature original cataloging
General humanities cataloging
Special projects include retrospective provision of vernacular terms to Oriental and Slavic languages materials in the catalog.
William C. (Hank) Young (Library Associate I)
Contributes original and shared cataloging for serials and monographs and has special responsibility for cataloging of online databases. Special areas of expertise: Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics. Serves on Cataloging and Metadata Dept. Training Committee. Coordinates cataloging of the Cooper Collection. Part of the StoDocs cataloging team working to catalog the pre-1976 US federal documents in the Auxiliary Storage Facility. Also works on the Library West Information Point and Ask A Librarian.
