Although catalogers were busy learning the new library management system, ALEPH and the new cataloging interface Connexion in fy 2005, the NACO workflow seemed to thrive.  We report an overall increase in contributions from fy04 1,417 to fy05 1,991 (a 40.5% increase).  We attribute the increase to cataloging support for participation in the 2nd phase of the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) Baldwin grant, original cataloging activity in the Government Documents Department, cataloging activity in the Health Science Center Library and the Florida Department of Agriculture/Division of Plant Industry.  New and changed name/title series headings created to support the Baldwin project contributed to the increase in new and changed series headings from fy04 283 to fy05 335 (an 18.4% increase).  The increase in personal names from fy04 750 to fy05 1,262 (a 68.3% increase) is most impressive and includes a significant number of contributions from the Documents Dept.  We experienced an increase in corporate body headings from fy04 211 to fy05 267 (a 26.6% increase) and report decreases for revised names and jurisdictions respectively from fy04 127 to fy05 93 (a 26.8% decrease) and from fy04 20 to fy05 6 (a 70% decrease).  Success in the NACO program is most often measured in the percentage increase of authority records contributed from year to year however, I'd like to point out that these changes are merely reflections of our cataloging priorities and that decreases are not to be categorized as negatives.

Over the next year, I expect our NACO contributions to continue to increase in many categories due in part to DLC cataloging projects with NACO authority components.
