2/4/09 Department Meeting
The agenda for the upcoming department meeting will include a Q&A time with Dean Russell as well as a recap of highlights from the ALA Midwinter Meeting.
The 10% budget cut proposal for the department is due February 6. To prepare, units should prioritize their core functions.
An FSU library school student, who is currently working in the Education Library, is interested in doing an internship in CatMet during the Summer semester. Betsy is working out the details with Iona.
Recently, Jane Anne noticed that WorldCat includes FUG original Encoding Level M records (with no holdings) for Baldwin titles. Betsy has been in touch with OCLC to find out how the records got there and what should be done about them. Jimmie mentioned that similar records for UF-owned antique maps were discovered in the past. We think, but want OCLC to confirm, that these records were added to RLIN, eventually got loaded into WorldCat as a result of the RLIN merger, and will be removed automatically by OCLC.
Active Directory Migration
Concern was expressed that some staff may not have seen the link to the step-by-step instructions for the e-mail migration.
