CatMet Management Group Minutes
February 6, 2013
Attendees: Peter Bushnell, Jimmie Lundgren, Hikaru Nakano, Betsy Simpson, Doug Smith, Priscilla Williams, Naomi Young
The 1st floor plan is not available yet.
Although the main focus is preparing for the move to the 1st floor, CMG might want to take a look at the 4th floor space and begin thinking about possible layouts.
CMG agreed that it would be a good idea to have a clean-up day in the spring.
Still no word from Library of Congress about when the RDA NACO training will take place.
FLARE (Florida Academic Repository)
Naomi and Hank are assisting ALF staff with procedures for ingesting U Miami material.
Naomi and Betsy will attend a conference call on February 7 with FLVC about creating the Aleph infrastructure for FLARE.
Rolando Milian, HSCL Librarian, met with Betsy to discuss Cataloging's involvement in activities of the Data Management/Curation Task Force.
On a related note, Betsy plans to contact Lois Widmer about current DLC workflow, particularly for the Institutional Repository.
Mark Sullivan made an adjustment to the UFDC feed to Mango that should result in many more UFDC records displaying in the catalog.
Records for the May and August graduations will be loaded into the catalog as soon as the files are ready. Mark Sullivan is actively working on the output specs.
Doug is going to submit a grover to create a new Item Process Status - IP - to be used by Acquisitions for manual orders instead of CT. This should make it easier to find rush items.
Acquisitions is going to start using RESV as the collection code when ordering Reserve material to eliminate hold requests for these items.
Acquisitions is developing a lost/replace workflow. Priscilla will contact Aimee to schedule a meeting to discuss the details.
