City Center
Betsy announced that Dean Russell decided not to move Acquisitions and Cataloging to the City Center location. She will continue to look for another location, preferably UF-owned property.
Serials workflow
Raimonda discussed a proposal to transfer serial title changes and HOL publication patterns to CatMet, which was received positively. It is not expected to have a significant impact on workload. Naomi will add this to the agenda for an upcoming serials cataloger meeting.
Laydene's position
Acquisitions submitted a reclass request for Laydene's position. If approved, Laydene will assume more Acquisitions work but continue to process travel, faculty semester reports, and supplies for both departments. It is unclear at this time how mail distribution would be handled.
Record editing
Priscilla proposed that the Authorities and Metadata Quality Unit distribute record editing. The idea is to eliminate the BIBCO basket and rely on printouts in the record editing basket. Priscilla will make arrangements to transfer this duty from Laydene to her unit.
HOL 856 links
Currently, HOL 856 links appear above the holdings list in Mango. FCLA is testing a configuration that will make donor links display under the associated holding.
2010-2011 department/unit goals
CMG discussed department/unit goals in light of an instruction from Rachel to relate them to the following division goal concepts. Betsy offered to draft 2010-2011 department goals. Units/areas will use the draft department goals to brainstorm specific objectives.
