CatMet Management Group Minutes

Attendees: Peter Bushnell, Jane Anne Carey, Hikaru Nakano, Betsy Simpson, Doug Smith, Naomi Young
Peter and Hikaru agreed to become Catalog Problems mailbox reviewers. CMG decided to assign primary and back-up reviewers for each month. In January 2010 Doug will be the primary reviewer with Naomi as back-up. Jane Anne will send the rest of the 2010 schedule soon.
Records in Mango now have a link to "Report a problem with this record." Submissions are sent to Catalog Problems with a subject line beginning, "MANGO says". This problem report link is in addition to the "Report a Problem" link in the footer of all Mango pages.
CatMet brainstormed re. a list of furniture and equipment that should be moved to an offsite facility.
OCLC Reclamation project
Jane Anne and Betsy have been reviewing the unresolved files. A list of the types of records included and possible reports and actions is posted at http://www.uflib.ufl.edu/catmet/reclamation.html.
Local serial holdings in OCLC
Approximately 50% of the errors have been corrected. Naomi is working with Jason on a list of errors with sublibrary/collection data.
Peter (monographs) and Naomi (serials) are going to serve as cataloging liaisons for Susy Potter at the Law Library.
Betsy will talk with Jimmie about a cataloging liaison for Beverly Pope at the Division of Plant Industry. [Update: Susan will be the liaison.]
Provider-Neutral Guide for E-Monographs
Jane Anne will coordinate a training session re. provider-neutral monograph records after the holidays. She plans to utilize the OCLC Webinar.
CMG discussed possible applications for the new 542 field, including ETDs and UFDC collections. Betsy will talk to Priscilla about ETDs and Laurie Taylor about UFDC.
