Subject: Aleph Reporting Client -- ARC
Since I'm trying to mind the store during Mary Ann's vacation, I'll take
advantage of her email account to post the following with apologies for
cross posting.
There is a good chance I will be beta testing 15.5 version of ARC and
would like your input as to what reports you would like to see in Aleph.
Librarians and staff in the Phase I libraries should specifically send
suggestions for reports that are not available from the Aleph services
menu. Ellen can review them and if any can, in fact, be run from
services she can get back to you individually. Those in Phase II and III
are welcome to suggest reports as well. Think about ARROW reports you
wouldn't want to lose or reports that you would like to have but can't
get from NOTIS/ARROW. Not only will this help me test ARC, but also
give me a better understanding of your priorities for an FCLA data
warehouse.
Subscribers to ACQCLIENT-L, CATCLIENT-L and SERCLIENT-L should post
their ideas on the appropriate list. Others can send their wish list to
me directly. When describing a report, PLEASE try to be a specific as
possible.
Also, don't bother adding a new titles report to your wish list. The
current ALEHP data is not sufficient to generate that list. There are
options, however, that need to be explored for how best to add needed
data elements in Aleph records to allow creation of a new titles list.
