RS Assessment Implementation Group

Description of Responsibilities:

 

The RS Assessment Implementation Group will consist of 2 staff members from each of the sections of the department. The Group will review all strategic objectives recommended by the various RS Assessment Working Groups, will lead discussion among RS staff to determine what if any action should be taken on each recommendation, and will recommend a coordinated plan for implementation.

The final product of the Group will be web-based documentation of a workable plan for implementation.

• Suzanne Kiker -- Acquisitions/Serials
• Linda Silba -- Acquisitions/Serials
• Terri Smith -- CBS

The members will select the facilitator from among the members of the group.

 
Issues to be Addressed:

Review recommendations made by the RS Assessment working groups and devise a plan to coordinate RS efforts to implement suggested recommendations for improving:

• RS organizational structure
• Overall departmental work flow
• Internal and external communication
• How RS handles electronic resources
• Process of hiring, orienting, training, retraining, cross training, equipping and rewarding a    well qualified and productive staff
• Technical competencies of all RS staff
• Staff morale in a rapidly changing and somewhat uncertain environment

Group Role:

 

The RS Assessment Implementation Group will be advisory in that the plan recommended will be submitted to all RS staff for discussion.  The Group will facilitate the discussion among the units and sections of the department.

 

Meetings:

 

The RS Assessment Implementation Group will meet regularly until an implementation plan is in place.

 

Minutes:

 

Brief minutes should be kept and promptly posted on the RS web page, along with meeting agendas.
