Recommendations on Systems Liaisons

RS Assessment/Implementation Committee      

Many of the recommendations proposed in the Systems Liaisons Group’s report have been or are being acted upon. The Committee has no further recommendations to make.

The Systems Liaisons Groups objectives included:

  • Involve Systems Liaisons in preparing and assisting staff in transition to a new Library Management System. This is a future goal dependent on when the new LMS is finally approved
  • Work on obtaining special funding for a LCD (Liquid Crystal Diode) projector and a digital camera for the department. An LCD projector has been made available by Systems, and the need for a digital camera is still under advisement  

Result: Facilities currently has a digital camera that is available for staff use

  • To improve training of Systems Liaisons, the Systems Liaisons have a representative on the Resource Services Training Committee. They will also be working with the Staff Development Officer and Systems
  • The Systems Liaisons have implemented a policy on the disposal of equipment and there is a policy in place for securing valuable systems and audiovisual equipment.

Result: The policy is included in the guidelines for setting up computers. If you need more information see the Coordinator of Systems Liaison

  • A hierarchical approach to how staff, Systems Liaisons, and Systems will work together to resolve computer issues is being developed and will be posted on the Systems Liaisons homepage
