Monograph Copy Cataloging Committee
Meeting Minutes
May 3, 1999 2:00-3:15p.m.
The recently appointed Monograph Copy Cataloging Committee held its first meeting in the Resource Services second floor conference room on Monday, May 3, 1999 between 2:00 and 3:15 p.m. Members present were Mary Gay Anderson, Jean Bostwick, Jackie Brown, Daniel Cromwell, Dot Hope, Connie Prince for Tina Hughes, Marie Kennedy, Nelda Schwartz, and Nancy Williams. Monica Aiton was unable to attend.
People introduced themselves and gave a brief description of their copy cataloging responsibilities. This led relatively seamlessly into a discussion of current training practices and future training needs. Jackie Brown and Marie Kennedy will draft an outline for a training program for monograph copy cataloging and will try to recruit Diana Hagan to help. As they prepare this outline they will note procedures that need to be drafted or revised. Each committee member received a copy of the index to CatPro and will help identify copy cataloging procedures to be drafted or revised.
The group tentatively set June 7th, 9:00-11:00 for its next meeting. Committee members will let Dot know if they can/can't meet Dot will find a meeting place. The LW Conference Room has been reserved for the above time.
