Summary

  • Improve the unit’s ability to catalog in all formats by further training and using the opportunities offered by the Digital Library Center to involve staff in the creation of structural metadata

  • Work to eliminate or reduce the last of SCAFAH’s arrearages by working them into the Unit’s workflow, especially the Education, Fine Arts, and Slavic arrearage (ca. 200 titles)

  • Continue to collaborate with Special Collections Dept. to define priorities and allocate cataloging resources

  • Elaborate procedures and goals for the cataloging of East Asian materials

  • Explore sources for outsourcing materials in addition to OCLC TechPro, especially for Africana materials and reincorporate the outsourcing of Africana, Judaica and possibly Slavic into the Unit’s responsibility
