This fund was established in 1981 with funds given in memory of Professor Archibald Robertson and with the bequest of his wife Alleyne. The fund was created primarily to support the acquisition of research materials relating to English Literature before 1674. Professor Robertson, who served for many years as Chairman of the Department of English at the University of Florida, is credited with laying the foundations for the humanistic holdings in the Libraries.
