Mission and Goals



Mission:

To develop and achieve a collection management program, integrating services at the advanced level, which effectively meets the research and instructional resource needs of current and future Library users, as well as ensuring effective management of library funds, staff, and space.

Goals:

  1. Develop and manage Library research resources in all formats to provide all necessary local support for instructional and research programs organized at the University.


  2. Organize, assign, train and encourage collection management staff to expand its knowledge of appropriate bibliographic universes and to become expert at selecting, managing, and molding library collections in all formats in response to the University's academic program.


  3. Stabilize the materials budget at a level which provides support of all necessary acquisitions for the Library's collections and fairly allocates fund budgets based upon academic program needs.


  4. Develop knowledge and understanding of the extant bibliographic universe at the national and international level in order to improve user access to research resources.
