Collection Management Steering Group
Status: Standing
Purpose: To act as the primary policy developing committee for the collection management programs created, implemented, and maintained by the Library. This committee will be responsible for defining needs, setting priorities, establishing conceptual plans, approving action plans, and evaluating the collection management program.
Membership: All bibliographers in charge of broad discipline groups, genre, format, special collections, and areas
Term: Continuing
Meetings: Monthly, with meeting times at the discretion of the committee.
Committee Chair: Associate Director for Collection Management
Recorder: Committee Staff
Agenda: Organized by the Committee and the Associate Director for Collection Management
Minutes: Distributed to collection managers and Library Management Group members not on the committee
Reports: There will be one annual report issued by the Associate Director for Collection Management during the month of September or October. The Committee may issue additional reports at any time, with copies distributed to the committee members of the Library Management Group not sitting on the committee.
Initiation of Studies and Referrals: The Committee may initiate studies upon need; may accept referrals from the Director of Libraries, the Library Management Group, Divisional Steering Groups, and Collection Management Circles; may refer policy and implementation questions to the Director of Libraries, the Library Management Group, Divisional Steering Groups, and Collection Management Circles.
