Microform Duplication Requests

1. IF FILM MUST BE DUPLICATED, the request should be placed with the Reprographics Unit in the Preservation Department.

   • If duplication is for UF collections, a fund code should be provided.

   • If duplication is for sale, appropriate contact information should be provided.

2. DUPLICATION OF FILMS CREATED BY OTHER INSTITUTIONS OR MICROPUBLISHERS cannot be completed without permission.

   • If permission is required, the Reprographics Unit will seek it as per Preservation Bulletin 7.5.

3. DUPLICATION OF FILMS FOR SALE cannot be completed without assignment of microform distribution rights to the Libraries.

   • Duplication for sale of film not assigned duplication rights may be an infringement of copyright law or other binding agreements.

   • If rights must be verified, the Reprographics Unit will verify them.

4. CONTRACT MICROFORM SERVICES are regulated under microform services bid agreement (currently, agreement number 93B-4YC).

   • The agreement sets forth costs and relations with the contracted microform service bureau, currently, Micrographics, Inc. (Gainesville).

   • The Preservation Department is the only unit of the Libraries, as set forth in the agreement, which can authorize services including duplication.
