Job Summary
Positions in this classification are entry level, and involve learning basic technical skills, developing proficiencies, and performing routine functions in one or more IT areas not limited to the following: network, systems, support, applications, business, research, and data. Positions involving these types of work have varied working titles. The working title will be determined by the hiring authority
and included in the position description and job postings.

Duties may include manual labor in the transport and setup of IT components and pulling cables, installing software, performing preventative maintenance, installing backups, identifying problems, and performing basic trouble-shooting following ‘cookbook’ proven solutions.

The output produced or result accomplished cannot be standardized in relation to a given period of time. The position devotes less than 20% of its hours worked to activities other than those described above.

Supervisory Duties
May supervise and/or direct the work of project teams. The employee may also have managerial and administrative responsibilities beyond functional supervision.
