Communications Committee

Committee Charge

The Communications Committee acts as an independent channel to provide the Directors with news of any issues which its members feel are not being adequately considered in other forums. A slate of members is selected from the Libraries, with broad representation from across departments. Appointments are coordinated by the Assistant Director for Support Services, but representatives from other divisions will be selected by their cognizant directors. The term of service on the committee is six months. The intent is to give a broad range of staff an opportunity to be part of the overall Library communications process. The committee will meet regularly with the Staff Development Officer, who will summarize any committee findings for the Directors. At least quarterly the entire committee will meet with the Directors as an additional communications channel.

This group provides communication with Library management for all staff, both through representation and through frequent opportunities to serve directly on the committee.
