1.         Announcements

 

·         Martha Hruska will be attending a CNI meeting from Monday, December 8th to Wednesday, December 10th.

·         A 60% complete Library West review meeting is schedule with the architects on Wednesday, December 10th.

·         Resource Services and Preservation received a report from SOLINET’s consultant visit.  There will be a follow-up conference call with SOLINET next week to discuss the report.

·         A status review session will be held with FCLA on Thursday, December 4th.  These review sessions will be held once a month to discuss progress on the critical steps necessary for Aleph system implementation May 2004.

 

2.         Updates/Status Reports:

 

a.                   Budget

 

·         Materials Budget

o       There is $1,308,379.84 remaining in the Materials budget.

o       The Harrassowitz, Swets/Blackwell/Oxford, a portion of the new EBSCO subscription, and all of the old EBSCO subscription have been paid.

o       DSR funds have not yet been used.

 

b.                  Systems/Networking

·         The SQL server has been moved from Library West to Library East.  The rest of the system components will be removed from Library West next week.

·         The campus Web cam attached to Library West has been inactive for approximately three weeks.  Bill Covey is having a difficult time determining what campus department is responsible for the Web Cam so that he can one, report the inactivity and two, have it removed before construction begins.

·         A campus wide calendar is trying to be developed.

·         Anticipating being on AD some time this summer.  At that time our domain name will change.

 

c.         Moves/Building issues

·         The contract has been awarded for work that must be done to MSL 107 to turn it into a classroom since LW 148 will not be available during construction/renovation.  A start date for this work has not been established.

·         A retrieval request form is being developed to request materials that will be housed at DOT during construction.

·         January 15th is still the anticipated date for materials to move to the DOT storage facility.

·         UPS will deliver directly to Library East by way of the drive in front of the library.  UPS will bring the items from YBP to the small lobby outside room 200 (Acquisitions and Serials) and the items will be sorted from there.  Returns will also be placed on a truck in the lobby for UPS pick up.

 

3.         Other

·      OCLC E-Learning Taskforce - Public Services is trying to develop a template that would interface.  A small taskforce is being formed to look at electronic skills.  The topic of more standardized subject resources pages is being discussed.
