Installation
Overview for Windows: Installing
MrSID on Windows is easy. First,
verify that your computer meets the following system requirements: Windows
Note that AOL and Netscape 6 browsers do not support MrSID at this time. Second, locate the browser plugin on either the LizardTech Web site at http://www.lizardtech.com/cgi-bin/products/products.pl , or our FTP site at ftp://ftp.lizardtech.com/pub/software/Windows/DjVu. Save the file out to your computer and run the installation executable from there. The DjVuBrowserPlugin.exe should install the NPDjVu.dll file to your browsers /plugins directory. If it seems that the plugin has not been completely installed, reboot your machine and verify that the NPDjVu.dll is in this location. NPDjVu.dll can be manually copied to the /plugins folder if necessary. Installing DjVu Browser Plug-in on Mac: Verify
that your computer meets the following system requirements:
Download the Macintosh DjVu Browser Plugin from our Web site at http://www.lizardtech.com/cgi-bin/products/products.pl or our FTP site at ftp://ftp.lizardtech.com/pub/software/Macintosh/. Run the DjVu plugin installer. The installer should place a DjVu plugin file in your browsers /plugins folder. If this plugin does not exist in the /plugins folder for the browser you are using then DjVu has not been installed. The DjVu plugin file can be manually copied to the /plugins folder if necessary. Always reboot machine after installing. Printing from DjVu Browser Plug-in: Prints can be made from DjVu Browser Plug-in to 8.5 x 11 inch paper. Printing must be done through the browser plug-in, printing from the browser’s print menu will not work. On Windows, open the image that you wish to print in the DjVu Browser Plug-in. Right click on the image and select ‘print image’ from the available menu. In the print dialogue box, select ‘High Quality’ and ‘Current Scene,’ click on ‘OK’ to print. On Mac, open the image that you wish to print in the DjVu Browser Plug-in. Control-click on the image that you wish to print and select print from the available menu. In the print dialogue box, select ‘High Quality’ and ‘Current Scene,’ click on ‘OK’ to print. Troubleshooting Printing Issues: If you are receiving a blank page when printing, verify that your printer is configured correctly and that the latest printer drivers have been installed for your printer. Printer drivers are typically free downloads available from the printer manufacturer’s Web site. Selecting ‘Current Scene’ and ‘High Quality’ from the print options may also solve this issue. If the image that you are printing comes out as a mirror or reversed image, verify that you have the latest printer drivers installed for your printer. A workaround for this problem is selecting ‘rotate image’ from the context sensitive menu in MrSID. On screen, the image will look backwards; however, the image will print as desired.
