Creating a Batch Process

Need some content here, please.

Running a Batch Process

If you have already created a batch process on that workstation, then here's how to run it.

  1. Select Advanced | Batch Processes....
  2. Select the sequence name, then click Edit Sequence.
  3. Click Browse, navigate to the folder, then click OK, OK.
  4. Click Run Sequence then OK.

Photoshop

Installation

  1. Uninstall all previous versions of Photoshop,
    Start | Settings | Control Panel | Add/Remove Programs,
    then restart the computer.
  2. Insert the CD-ROM and accept all the defaults, except that under File Associations, select All to PS.
  3. For CS/8.0 and later versions: After the installation is complete, but before you launch Photoshop, install JPEG2000 support:
    Copy JPEG2000.8BI from the CD-ROM's \Goodies\Optional Plug-Ins\Photoshop Only\File Formats folder
    to your local drive's \Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop CS\Plug-Ins\Adobe Photoshop Only\File Formats folder.
  4. The installation currently creates shortcuts for both Photoshop and Image Ready, but only in the Start menu. Drag or copy them to the desktop, and check that they both work for "Everyone": Right click the icon | Properties | Security | Everyone (add it if necessary) | Full Control | OK etc.
  5. Restart the computer.
  6. Update the database to show that one license has now been taken by this workstation, and, if applicable, one license for the uninstalled version is now available. (When this feature is enabled, it will probably use the package ID number.)

Creating a Batch Process

  1. Open up a file on which you want to perform the action (because you do not want the Open event to be part of the saved action.)
  2. Click the Create New Action icon at the bottom right of the Actions window.
What- you don't see the window? Select Window | Actions from the menu bar.
  3. Give it a name- something that you will remember later- then click the Record icon at the bottom of the Actions window.
  4. Photoshop will remember every step you make until you click the Stop icon.
  5. For the "Save" step, uncheck the option to save a profile.
  6. Be sure to include Save and Close in your action- but not Open!

Running a Batch Process

  1. Either (1) have all the target files open in the Photoshop window, or (2) have all of them and only them in one folder.
  2. Select File | Automate | Batch... from the menu bar.
  3. Select your action from the Action pulldown list.
  4. Depending on your choice in the first step, set Source to either (1) Opened Files or (2) Folder. (If folder, then click the Choose button to navigate to it.)
  5. Set the Destination to None so that the modified files are saved to the same folder.
  6. Click OK.
