Clock Synchronization
Why Bother?
The Libraries' administration wants all computer clocks set to the correct date and time, so that certain features of Microsoft Outlook will work as intended.
Installation
Windows 2000 can keep track of the time on its own through the Windows Time service. But first, the registry must be updated.
- Navigate to Smathersnt2\ReadOnly\D4\ and double click W32Time.reg for Windows2000 or W32TimeXP.reg for WindowsXP.
- Click OK then Yes.
- Right click My Computer, select Manage, expand Services and Applications, and select Services.
- Double click Windows Time.
- Under the General tab, click Stop.
- After a message box indicates that it has stoppped, click Start to start the service again.
- Make sure that Status reads Started and that Startup Type reads Automatic.
It should not be necessary to reboot.
