Disposal of Computer-related Equipment

So you're just gonna THROW that thing away, huh?
This is what the Systems department has to say about that:

  1. What to do with obsolete CD-ROMs and paper documentation? Return them to Systems' front desk. Debra F. 2003-03-31
...if they have package ID's on them. Bobbie M. 2004-07-07
  2. This directive on disposal applies to almost everything we touch, even (amazingly enough) cables. The only commonly used IT resources not listed are media (floppies, CDs, etc.). All other IT items and components must be surveyed through Surplus Property. In the Libraries, this is initiated by contacting Systems (for decalled IT items) or Facilities (every other IT piece or component). Bill Covey 2003-02-05
