Machine Access Code (MAC) / Network Interface Card (NIC)
There are three ways to find the MAC address for a PC running Windows 2000. Here they are, in descending order of easiness:
- Start | Run | cmd, and enter ipconfig/all at the DOS prompt. Look under Physical Address.
- Enter net config workstation at the DOS prompt. Look at the end of the data under Workstation active on.
- From the Windows desktop, right-click My Computer and select Manage | System Information | Components | Network | Adapter. The right side of the window will display the MAC address. Make sure you get the Ethernet 802.3 Adapter MAC address.
