OCLC Connexion

Some workstations will require the OCLC Connexion program. Here is how to install and configure it.

  1. Go to \\Smathersnt12\DLC\Software\OCLC\ and see if the latest installer is already there.
  2. If not, then go to the web site, and enter the authorization and password (ask somebody if you don't know it).
  3. Download the latest Connexion client Complete software.
  4. Click your way through the installation.
  5. Launch the application.
  6. Select Tools, Options, Authorizations.
  7. Enter the same authorization number and password.
  8. For the name, enter "enhance", and click Apply.
  9. Under the Derive Record tab, check every box you can, then click Apply.
  10. Under the Export tab, click Create, select OCLC Gateway Export, then click OK.
  11. Under Host Name, enter aleph.fcla.edu, and for Port, enter 7545.
  12. Then click OK, OK, Apply and Close.
  13. To test the configuration, click the upper left icon, then OK then Close, then in the Command Line Search box, enter a search string like scan ti="glencoe world geography".

If you see search results, then the configuration is probably good.
