RecordNow!
RecordNow! is our weapon of choice for burning CD's and DVD's.
Some licenses were purchased from Stomp, some from Sonic Solutions.
Installation
- Uninstall Roxio Easy CD Creator- or any other burning software on that workstation-
from the Add/Remove Programs dialog box.
If you are uninstalling a previous version of Stomp, remove Stomp Update Manager and Stomp DLA before RecordNow!. - Use Windows Explorer to search in C:\Documents and Settings for any leftover shortcuts, and delete them if you find any.
- Restart the computer.
- Fetch the Sonic Solutions RecordNow! disc from the software shelf.
- Insert it into a disc drive, and double click the EXE icon to launch the installer. You may need a serial number. Current documentation is in the liaisons binder on the software shelf.
- Check Add icon to desktop during the install.
- When installation is complete, check the desktop icon's Properties | Security, to make sure that Everyone has Full Control, and that it is located in All Users\Desktop.
- Restart the computer, and return the disc to the software shelf.
Sonic Solutions: Configurations Per User
Sadly, there is no way to set configurations once and have it apply to all users. Instead these values must be set under each login.
- Click the wrench icon
to open the Options screen. - Under General | Advanced,
- under CD select 8x
- under DVD select 4x
- Under Data,
- check Verify data written to the disk after burning
- check Tell me how to add files to a data disc
- check I only need to use disks for one recording
- Under Data | Advanced,
- under Type select Track at once (TAO), Closed
- under Mode select Mode 1
- under File System select ISO+Joliet+UDF (106 character file names)
