User Configurations Per Workstation
There are a several configurations which must be done for each user on each workstation. Have the user login first.
Add Printers
Map Network Drives
Internet
Connect to the Internet Wizard
- Double click the Connect to the Internet desktop icon.
- Answer LAN | LAN | Auto | No | Finish.
Microsoft Internet Explorer Gopher Workaround
- Make sure that Internet Explorer is closed.
- Using Windows Explorer, run the patch smathersnt2\ReadOnly\Current Patches\Gopher Workaround\Setproxy.exe.
- It does not seem to actually do anything, and it leaves no message box afterward.
Microsoft Internet Explorer Temprorary Internet Files Folder
The current default for the cache size is set in the gigabytes. Even brief web serving over a period of months will fill this up in short order, and slow the machine's performance.
- In Internet Explorer, select Tools | Internet Options | General | Settings.
- Next to MB select a lower value, like 4, instead of 1189.
- Select OK then OK.
