Browsing Books by LC Classification
Browsing Books by LC Classification
At the Education Library, most of the book material held are classified by the Library of Congress Classification (LCC) schedule. Other, usually older, materials are in Dewey Decimal Classification, but will eventually be reclassed using LCC. Below are resources that can assist in browsing much of the Education Library collection by LCC call number.
Use the Library Catalog to locate matierals in the Education Library and other UF Libraries across campus. You can also browse library books using the call numbers to locate specific ranges appropriate for your topics. For example, if you are interested in School administration and organization, browse LB2801-3095. If interested in Elementary or public school education LB1555-1602 is the call range you would browse. For science and mathematics teaching, you will find some resources in the L class but will likely need to browse in the Q (Science General) and Subclass QA (Mathematics). See the LC Class Outline for more.
