Games in the Libraries
Understanding games and interactive media is an important part of information literacy, but games are also great fun. In recognition of this and of the changing status of Libraries from quiet study halls to the "third places" that between work and home, the UF Libraries are investigating games in the Libraries.

If you are already familiar with SL, come to one of our upcoming advanced sessions: Session 2: “SL Hot Spots”: learn about interesting spots in SL, both fun and educational—see what people can do in SL! Wednesday, March 5, 1-1:30 in Library West Room 211. Session 3: “Tips & Tricks in SL”: from keyboard shortcuts to earning money in SL, this session will show you the ins and outs of SL. Wednesday, April 2, 1-1:30 in Library West Room 211.
- Introductory Second Life Training for Library Staff, Wed. February 6, from 1-1:30 in Library West
Interested in learning more about or getting involved in Second Life (SL) but don’t know how? Come to the first session of our Second Life Series, “Getting Started in SL” on Wednesday, February 6, from 1-1:30 in Library West Room 211. You will learn the basics of SL such as: how to sign up (it’s free); how to create your avatar; how to navigate SL; how to teleport; other basic commands.
