Digital Media Center, Media Viewing/Video-Conferencing Room and the Group Presentation Area

The Library West Information Commons includes specialized multimedia areas, located primarily on the east end of the 3rd floor. All workstations in the media areas include the software available on the general computing workstations, except for printing capability and the listed multimedia applications. In addition to these areas, two Accessibility and Media Production Stuidos are available for reservation.

Patrons requiring the use of multimedia applications are given priority to use the workstations in the digital media center. We reserve the right to request that patrons who are not using the specialized multimedia software move to the general computing areas. The media viewing/video-conferencing room and group presentation area must be reserved.

Digital Media Center
18-3GHz Dell Precision 380 MiniTower with dual 19" monitors; 2 available USB and 1 firewire (1394) ports; CD-RW and DVD+-R/RW drives; 149GB hard drive; and 2GB RAM

All with Microsoft Office, Adobe/Macromedia web development and imaging applications, 3D Animation Software (available in late fall), Adobe video and audio editing software and OCR capability
8 with HP ScanJet 4850 PhotoScanners

Media Viewing/Video-Conferencing Room (Room 229)
1 workstation, as above, with Microsoft Office, Adobe/Macromedia web development and imaging applications and OCR capability
1 HP ScanJet 4850 PhotoScanner
1 projector
1 VHS/DVD media player
1 webcam
1 Polycom VSX 7000 videoconferencing system

Group Presentation Area
1 workstation, as above, with Microsoft Office, Adobe/Macromedia web development applications, and Adobe video editing applications
