Database Locator
The UF Libraries subscribe to numerous databases that you can locate by name or by subject.

To locate a database such as Academic Search Premier by name, select the "Databases" link from any of the Smathers Libraries web pages or connect directly from this URL: http://www.uflib.ufl.edu/databases.html. Look for the "By Title" searchbox and enter the database's name. The resulting page shows you a list of databases matching your search.

To explore databases in a subject area, at the databases page, click on "By subject." You will see next a listing of many subject areas. Click on a subject and you will see the databases broken down into "top picks" or the most popular ones in the subject area, specialized ones, etc. To see the comprehensive listing, click on "ALL."

To learn more about the content of a database, once you have the database(s) listed, click on the i icon at the right. A description will display, including coverage, time span, etc.

To connect to the database, click on the name of the database, then click on "connect to native interface."

There is also a link to the subject guides pages, where the librarian subject specialist in each area has prepared a guide to the databases and other information. This can be a good place to identify the best places to search for journal articles, book chapters and other information in the subject discipline.
