You can request library materials that the University does not own through a service called Interlibrary Loan (ILL). When you submit your request at http://illiad.uflib.ufl.edu/illiad, our ILL Department will contact a library that has the item you need and request to use it on your behalf. You will not need to locate an owning library before you submit a request, as the Library will do that for you. Please do provide complete bibliographic information, including author, title, publication date, volume, page numbers, etc. to speed up the process and help ensure you receive the correct information. It is also helpful to include the name of the database where you encountered the citation to the book or article, if relevant. Once your request is filled, you will be notified that it is available. Articles from periodicals or books are digitized and you will need to log on to ILLiad to access and read the PDF. Books will be held at the circulation desk of the appropriate campus library. Please note that in order to use ILLiad, you must first register for this free service and set up your profile. You can register at the Interlibrary Loan page (http://illiad.uflib.ufl.edu/illiad) by selecting the "First Time Users: Create Account" link; you will need your activated library card number. Once you complete your registration, you will be able to submit a request. For more information or help, contact the ILL
Department at (352) 273-2535 or illoan@uflib.ufl.edu. ILL hours are
8 am - 5 pm, Monday - Friday.
