Clearing the Window - Jabber UF In a Jabber conference room, there is always a record of the last forty lines of text. We recommend that you initiate a private IM with users so that you can work with their reference question quietly outside the din of the Library conference room. However, anyone who signs on for help will see all of the previous conversation left behind by earlier chatters. It's possible to clear your own screen of the text by using the /clear command. But this doesn't help the user just signing on. Asking the person to use their clear command may be awkward. An easier way to clear text, and to provide a friendly welcome to newcomers is to cut and paste the following message. Repeat pasting the message into the chat text as many times as necessary, until you force the conversation out of view. Include the periods to create white space. Cut and Paste:
