Ask a Librarian IM works with several different instant messaging services, including AIM, Yahoo! Messenger, Google Talk, Meebo and UF Jabber. Library staff use Pidgin, a multi-protocol instant messaging client, to accept reference questions from library users regardless of their instant messaging service.
