Using the UF Libraries' Catalog

Full Record Display

The Full Record display provides a lot more information than the Search Results/Brief Record display, including publisher, number of pages, subject headings, etc.:

[Full Record display]

The call number and physical location of the material appears in the Location field of the record. You must click the Location line to view the Holdings Record to see if an item is currently checked out and to initiate a Request.

NOTE: To find out what volumes we own for a journal, magazine or newspaper, you must go to the Holdings Record for that title by clicking on Holdings. To see new issues and due dates, and to Request an item, you must click on All Items.

You may want to look for materials similar to this one by redirecting your search:

  • Click on a Subject heading assigned by librarians to search for more items on that subject.
  • Click on the Author name to find other books by this author.
  • Click on a Series name to see other items that belong to that series.
  • Click on Continues or Continued by to track needed years of journals that change their names.

You also have the options to Save/Email the record, Add to List (a collection of records that persists only for the duration of your user session), or Add to e-Shelf (a collection of records that you save on your user account -- you must sign-in to use this functionality).

NOTE: You must view the Full Record to see the complete listing of library locations and external (full text online) links. Notice how the Brief view only displays one link:

[Brief display - 1 link]

However, the Full Record view shows more links, years of coverage for each link, and license restrictions:
