Using the UF Libraries' Catalog

Online Renewals

Click on  Your Account  to view your account options within the UF Libraries' Catalog. If you have not already signed-in for some other reason, you will be prompted to do so. Then click on the Loans link to see a list of all the items you currently have checked out along with their due dates.

[Loans display showing items you currently have checked out]

The items having the earliest due dates are listed at the top

There are two options for renewing items:

  1. "Renew All" Option
One option is to click on the Renew All button (see arrow above) to try to renew all items at once. When you click Renew All, the system will attempt to renew all items (books, periodicals, videos, etc.) you currently have checked out from any of the UF libraries.

  2. Renew "Selectively" Option
A second option is to click the check-boxes adjacent to each item to try to renew one or more items. Then click "Renew Selected" in the upper right of the screen.

Sometimes you will not be able to renew an item due to:

  • A block on your library account
  • An item that has been recalled
  • Your library account being expired
  • It being a short term loan item
In these cases a message will display on the renewal screen indicating the reason. Items borrowed through Interlibrary loan do not display in your regular library loans list, and will need to be renewed through your Interlibrary loan account at http://uflib.illiad.oclc.org/illiad/Logon.html. Health and Law may have different policies – please contact them for further information.’

IMPORTANT NOTE: If you renew items far in advance of their due date, you may shorten the total time you may keep any items that are subject to renewal limits. Renewing items selectively may be thebetter option for you.

Upon completion, be sure to re-display the list of loans again and check the due dates showing. The items due soonest will appear at the top of the list.
