What are the Differences Between Popular & Scholarly Articles?
Journal articles are usually peer-reviewed or scholarly. This means they have gone through an editing process prior to being published and were written by researchers within a field, often times for other researchers in that particular field. Examples of scholarly journals are Annals of Applied Biology, Nature, and Journal of Physics A. As opposed to popular magazines, such as Scientific American or National Geographic which are written by journalists and are not peer-reviewed.
