  • ACM Digital Library contains "Full text of every article ever published by ACM."
  • IEEE/IEE Electronic Library (IEL) provides indexing and full-text access to IEEE and IEE/IET transactions, journals, magazines and conference proceedings published since 1988 and all current IEEE standards
  • Books24x7(e-books) a SkillSoft Company, is a leading provider of web-based digital technical and business reference content, containing thousands of digitized "best-in-class" reference books, research reports, documentation and articles through the Referenceware platform. The ITPro collection includes books on Business and Culture, Certification and Compliance, Databases, Desktop & Office Applications, Enterprise Computing, Graphic Design & Multimedia, Hardware, IBM Redbooks, Networks & Protocols, Operating Systems, Programming Languages, Security, Telecommunications, and Web Programming & Development.   • Ei / Compendex / Engineering Index is the most comprehensive interdisciplinary engineering database in the world. Contains over 9 million records and references to over 5,000 international engineering sources including journal, conference, and trade publications, dating back to 1884.
  • CSA Technology databases cover major areas of research, including materials science, environmental sciences and pollution management, biological sciences, aquatic sciences and fisheries, biotechnology, engineering, computer science.
  • INSPEC includes Physics Abstracts, Computer and Control Abstracts, and Electrical and Electronics Abstracts. The largest English language file of bibliographic information and abstracts on the world's output of published works in physics, electrical engineering and electronics, computing, and information technology. Covers scientific and technical journals and conference proceedings. Includes some books, reports, and dissertations from 1896-present.
  • Web of Science enables users to search current and retrospective (back to 1900) multidisciplinary information from approximately 8,500 of the most prestigious, high impact research journals in the world. Also provides a unique search method, cited reference searching, so users can navigate forward, backward, and through the literature, searching all disciplines and time spans.
  • Computing Reviews contains reviews in computing literature from Reviews.com and the ACM. The site presents a continually updated overview of the best new material published in the field. In addition to a ten year-plus archive of reviews and articles, Reviews.com also provides personalized alerts and customized searching and browsing.

  • Technical Reports - freely accessible

  • CoRR Computing Research Repository  partnership of ACM, the Los Alamos e-print archive (arXiv), NCSTRL, and AAAI to build a single repository for computer science research reports.
  • CiteSeer is a scientific literature digital library that also provides algorithms, techniques, and software. Links cited documents and maintains list of most-cited authors in computer science.
  • E-print Network: Research Communications for Scientists and Engineers is a gateway to over 26,000 Web sites and databases worldwide, containing 1.2 million e-prints in basic and applied sciences, primarily in physics but also including subject areas such as chemistry, biology and life sciences, materials science, nuclear sciences and engineering, energy research, computer and information technologies, and other disciplines of interest to DOE.

  • Collection of Computer Science Bibliographies provides Basic and Advanced search engines to more than 1500 bibliographies of over 2 million references. Includes cross references, URLs to online full text, and links to other related sites. Updated monthly.
  • Computerworld Honors Program recognizes and documents the achievements of individuals and organizations who use Information Technology to benefit the world.
  • Intute Computing Gateway links to resources "evaluated and categorised by subject specialists based at UK universities".
  • Help-Site Computer Manuals links to full-text comuter manuals.
  • AcademicInfo directory of online resources
  • MathTools.net is a "Link Exchange for the Technical Computing Community."

  • Personal computing

  • Webopedia claims to be "The only online dictionary and search engine you need for computer and Internet technology definitions."
  • WhatIs contains "definitions for thousands of the most current IT-related words."
  • ZDNet "where technology means business."
  • Computer Almanac offers "interesting and useful numbers about computers."
  • When you see Find@UF in your search results, click for access to digital full-text material.

    Most of the above databases require subscriptions.  If you are accessing these databases off campus, be sure to use the UF proxy server (accessible through the remote logon page) or VPN.
