- International
- The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations FAO Forestry web site is a multi-lingual site offering FAO forestry contacts around the world, FAO publications, and subject specific FAO sites on forestry. The site can be navigated by country.
- The WWW Virtual Library: Forestry website provides global coverage of forestry information, including links to University departments and research groups, governmental and non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and commercial sites around the world; publications (books, periodicals, research reports, proceedings, legislation and other agreements); a list and description of databases; forestry libraries and online bibliographies; and more.
- IUFRO International Union of Forest Research Organizations is a non-profit, non-governmental international network of forest scientists. Its objectives are to promote international cooperation in forestry and forest products research. Site includes an online reference library and database.
- National
- The U.S.D.A Forest Service manages public lands in national forests and grasslands, and claims to be the largest forestry research organization in the world. They provide technical and financial assistance to state and private forestry agencies. Contains links to National Forest websites; National Headquarters; and the Library, which contains publications, maps, software, videos and photographs.
- The United States Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition and Forestry lists Congressional membership of the committee, and provides the agenda, schedule and hearings of the committee. Follow the Resources link to search the current Congress for texts of bills.
- The Forest History Society is a non-profit educational institution affiliated with Duke University. The focus is North American within a global context. They co-publish the journal Environmental History (see journals listing below). The website has a link to the U.S.D.A. Forest Service History Program; and a link to the library, which contains an archival guide, a photograph collection, and an oral history collection.
- The Society of American Foresters is a non-profit professional society and a national scientific and educational organization. The website contains information on forestry education, science, employment, and publications (the SAF publishes respected journals and books on forestry, many of which are held at MSL), news archives, and more. The SAF provides accreditation to forestry schools in the U.S.
- Regional
- The Florida Division of Forestry is a division of the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. The site provides a list of county foresters throughout the state; online publications such as Forest Trees of Florida and Insects and Diseases (both also available in MSL); volunteer opportunities; wildfire training information; and landowner assistance.
- The Forest Health Protection - Southern Region is a unit of the USDA Forest Service. Experts provide technical assistance in the prevention, detection and treatment of forest insects and disease pest problems. The site contains online Information Reports, Pest Alerts, Leaflets, and other publications, and an Online Forest Health Atlas.
- The University of Florida School of Forest Resources and Conservation. has a wide array of extension projects in Urban Forestry, Forest Stewardship, Natural Resource Education, and Florida 4-H Forest Ecology. School publications are listed and are available online and at County Extension Offices. Florida forestry statistics by county are provided under County Forestry Information, and a wealth of practical information can be found at the Florida Forestry Information link.
- The Georgia Forestry Commission has programs in Forest Management, Forest Protection, Information & Education, and Reforestation.
